There was a fellow in vaudeville named Professor Backwards whose act consisted of writing things on a blackboard backwards, rapidly. Sadly, he was killed in a robbery attempt. But the joke that went around at the time (and it's COMPLETELY tasteless) is that he shouted for someone to rescue him, but no one responded to his cries of, "pleH! pleH!"
