It is so good to be out of the treatment center. I am doing much better now. I only wake up screaming three or four times a night now. I feel much more rested and the headaches are really not a bother. I sure do miss the happy pills the Nurse would give me. They would make my brain twinkle and all my colors reverse, and I could sing like Brian Wilson.
They have lots of rules at the Center. One rule was no writing. I found that very hard to comply with. After hours when no one was in the office I would sneak in. I told them I was getting more paper to draw on, but actually I was typing on the Typewriter. I started a novel that I think is pretty good. Here is a sample chapter below.

the beginning was a little shakey but I loved how you pulled it all together at the end!
If you wake up screaming ONLY 3 or 4 times a night since returning from "the Center," are you sleeping on the couch or in another room far away from Sandi??? And as for the novel.....I would tend to agree with "the other one's" thoughts except for the fact that we don't think it ever really came together at
the "beginning," "middle," or "the end"....sorry to be so harsh...it is just kind of repetitious and boring...no real message except for the obvious. Now why don't you get back to doing what you do best...talking and acting on stage with your wooden American friends? We will come to see you doing that...actually we would come to see you just to see you!!!

I felt that Jack was a consistent character although he lacked depth and showed no real emotion.
The action, although realistic, seemed to focus more on Jack's workday activities than any form of recreation.
I did particularly enjoy the one and only sex scene and found it both erotic and and in good taste. The originality displayed, however, may make some blush.
It may be in subsequent chapters that author Jay Johnson reveals a deeper side to "Jack" but no mattter, the character seems to be taking form nicely, even if he appears to be working all day with no play resulting in him being a dull boy; except of course for the sex scene.
