Editors Additional Note:
Once again, Mr. Helmhurst you have chosen to air this dispute in the public forum of this blog.Once again I will answer it in the same public way. If you were a serious litigator I would think you could find a better means of negotiating a solution for your client than this open blog. Nonetheless, this is my response to your accusations.
There is no "censorship" exercised in the probationary suspension of Jay Johnson as writer of this this blog. We are simply waiting on him to fulfill his obligations to deliver a daily funny essay for publication. Although we have received several submissions since his suspension, we have yet to think any of them were funny enough to publish. What are we supposed to do? Should we fill the daily space with bickering and public negotiations?
All we have asked of Mr. Johnson is that he deliver a daily, amusing (to funny) essay on the stories that would be interesting to readers of "The World is a Stage." (quotation necessary). Until such time as we receive such an essay, he will continue to be on probationary suspension. If the we do not have an essay suitable for publication in three days we will consider him in breach of his contract.
Thank you,

Contract? Since when do you have to sign a contract to write a blog.
ReplyDeleteI am confused, is this real?
The user agreement is the contract. I don't who this is, but blogger.com can stop anything they don't want to appear on their site.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mr. P. Collier. We certainly do have the right.

Okay, but who decides if it is funny? That is so subjective. Aren't there a lot of technical blogs on line that aren't even supposed to be funny? What are your qualifications to decide what is funny?
ReplyDeleteJay, Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteI think a previous lawyer with this firm was named Cutherburt J. Twillie or I may have him confused with Edgar J. Souse - (accent grave over the last 'e')
ReplyDeleteBoth were reportedly last seen in San Francisco and have presumably moved on to Novato and parts west.
This whole back & forth reminds me of a group I knew when I was a barbership singer back in Skokie, called The Cunning Linguists. I mean orca fat. Really big.
Keep up the great work.
Best regards, Carl Deese
